MISSION

To bridge the gap between public policy and society by encouraging civic participation, generating pragmatic policy ideas, and promoting a deeper understanding of the issues that affect society.

Principles

Role of State: We believe in the role of government in good governance, following effective regulations and policy. We critique and provide constructive public policy feedback to improve government decision-making and processes. However, we do not believe the state to be absolute. Law, order, and freedom of expression must be carried out in moderation.

Market position: We believe in the role of enterprise in leading economic growth and social empowerment, operating with effective government regulation to prevent abuse and market manipulation.

Social / Cultural: We promote human-centric public policies and strong traditional values.

Equity / Hierarchy: We support social empowerment based on equitable principles that all who are capable should be given opportunities.

FIKIR ensures that youth perspectives are incorporated into its research, analysis, and public statements. As the generation that will inherit the consequences of today's policy decisions, young people possess unique insights into emerging challenges, evolving social trends, and the aspirations of future society.

By providing meaningful opportunities for youth participation, FIKIR not only enriches the quality and relevance of its policy work but also cultivates a new generation of informed and engaged citizens. Through exposure to public policy discourse and decision-making processes, young people gain valuable experience in critical thinking, civic engagement, and constructive dialogue, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the nation.
